The team

The seed for MySentinel was sown in 2017 when Gabriel Ballesteros and Lance Hastie collaborated on an Australian based project that used the technology the system is now based on.

Using Internet of Things (IoT) methodology the project was a low-power long-range remote control for a camera system. Gabriel then refined its operation to present a demonstration kit that showcased its functionality for the New Zealand market. The four demonstration units were trialled at a Canterbury poultry farm – to answer a request for a backup alarm system. The pair then scoped out a web based software platform to partner the hardware, delivered to industry representatives standards.

That grew to cover multiple farms in the Canterbury and Auckland regions. Learning the ways of the poultry industry, the why’s and why not’s, the result is a proven track record of hardware operation.
